Works fine on a Mac. I simply needed this for a toy for my daughter. That's all I can say.
It will not power a 2.5 inch drive alone. Unless your drive has a separate power source this USB cable is good only for data transfer. It should be advertised as such.
The only positive is quick shipping. This is just the generic Mini-B USB cable, not Kodak compatible. Cable does not fit a Kodak C813 camera as stated in Amazon listing. The packaging doesn't list the C813, connector is too large; they could have read the package. Now the hassles of a return.
There was a review that warned the cable was very weak and so I ordered this one. Also the one that comes with the Mophie is short and not as well built. None of the cables with this mini plug will withstand a lot of abuse, but this one better built than most. I purchased the Belkin F3U138-06 Mini B 6 foot cable to charge my Mophie external battery for my Iphone. It works well and allows me to place my phone in a safe place overnight. I am very pleased and it works just fine.
This is a very well-made USB cable, and is heavy-enough gauge to let you use with 2.5" hard drives to carry both power and data. I bought it because most of the cheap USB cables can't carry more than data, and a lot of those drives don't come with external power supplies.After striking out on several brands, I bought this one (hoping that the "pro series" would be heavier gauge) -- and it worked great.
